McDonnell ( 84 Largy Road, Portglenone) 16th May 2020 (peacefully at hospital) Alex RIP beloved son of the late Patrick and Mary Jane, much loved brother of Margaret (Kearney), Seamus, Mary (Hunter), Fr. Tom, Catherine (Carey),  Ann (McNicholl), Una (Boyle), Patricia (McFlynn) and the late Malachy. In keeping with current Government and Diocesan COVID-19 restrictions Alex’s wake and funeral was strictly private. Alex’s Requiem Mass was celebrated (privately) at 11am on Monday 18th May in St Mary’s Church Portglenone, whereby everyone was most welcome to join the live online broadcast via the Portglenone Parish webcam by visiting: https://stmarysportglenone.co.uk/?page_id=98 Alex’s passing was deeply regretted by his sorrowing brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and large family circle. NB: Funeral Cortege Route

Alex’s funeral cortège left his late residence on Monday 18th May at 12.15pm and travelled along the Largy Road, onto the Ballymena Road and arrived at Aughnahoy Cemetery at approximately 12.35pm. Friends and neighbours were encouraged to line the cortège route (whilst maintaining social distancing) to pay their respects.
